functional description

As a Document Control Associate Professional, you will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive and organized internal documentation library.

  • Maintains, manages, and organizes an up-to-date internal documentation library, ensuring that records are easily accessible and accurate.
  • Provides or coordinates special documentation services as required to ensure that non-routine documentation service is provided.
  • Handling the retention of records, microfilms, archives, provides official copies, and issues logbooks.
  • May function as editor or as a writer in order to provide high quality documentation support.
  • Determines appropriate approaches for records retention and following established protocols.
  • Works with subject matter experts to find best practices and streamline processes.
  • Updating documents as required and ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding tasks.
  • Works in both the JPL SharePoint Environment and the JPL Enterprise Content Management System.

Requirements:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with subject matter experts, coordinating documentation services, and providing documentation support.
  • Excellent attention to detail when handling records retention, editing documents, and ensuring accuracy in documentation.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience in document control, records management, technical writing, or a related role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with technical writing principles, including the ability to edit and format documents for clarity and consistency.
  • Experience in streamlining document management processes and implementing best practices for records retention and accessibility.
